Been taking a few of my vehicles there for a few years now.

I'm pretty picky on who works on my car. They are knowledgeable and takes no short cut.

Trustworthy company. Will be a repeated customer!

I have been bringing my vehicles to Tuffys for years now. It started when I lived in Ankeny, but I had been so impressed by the service that I continue to bring my car there now that I live in Des Moines. They are great at explaining what is wrong with my car in terms I can understand and show me whenever possible. As a female, I have ever felt out of place or disrespected there. I would recommend Tuffys to anyone.

Took my car in for a free break inspection (which in itself is convenient) and they were able to fix the problem right away at a very reasonable price. I told them I was in a hurry and they got my car done earlier than expected, and there were no hidden fees, the quote they gave me was spot on and every worker I encountered was so kind! Very impressed overall with my visit!

Good work. Wish you had a pickup timeframe on Sundays, even for an hour, so I could have had my car for work Monday. Very friendly and great communication! Thanks guys!

I am extremely frustrated with my experience and will not be returning. I took my car to Tuffy for an oil change mid morning on a Monday and it did not appear busy. I asked the person that waited on me how long it would be and he said that they should have it into a bay within 30 minutes. This sounded fine to me and worked with my schedule so I happily turned over my keys. I went across the street to wait at a coffee shop and after not hearing anything for just under two hours went back and was told that it had just been brought in 'about 15 minutes ago' and that it would be another 30-45 minutes. No explanation was offered. I left and returned and only after I grew visibly upset and probed for some sort of explanation of why my experience was so different from what I was told was I offered a disappointing 'it just took longer than expected'. I was offered a $5 discount. This was offered, again, only after I became visibly frustrated. Also, my time is more valuable than $5. My entire schedule was thrown off because what I was told did not match what happened. If I would have been given a more accurate idea of what to expect OR would have been updated throughout the process I would have felt completely differently. THAT is the problem.

Kristen, I apologize your experience wasn't terrific. There are times when a customer visits and things ahead of them don't go as planned because parts break, don't arrive on time, or other hidden issues existed. You were told we'd have your car in the shop in the next 30 minutes. It was in the shop at 40 minutes. We had you checked out of our shop an hour later which put your entire visit from the time you checked in to paying your invoice at under 2 hours. I've called offering free oil changes for another chance and to apologize for not meeting your expectations. I wish you safe and happy driving and hope that you can find it in you to give us another chance.
