I brought my car in for the replacement of an oxygen sensor. I was satisfied with the installation and cost.

Now, the bad experience. I was told the oil pan and rear differential gaskets needed to be replaced. I asked to see what I was being told. After sometime and my insistence, the car was finally put back up on the lift. I asked if oil had been added to the rear differential and was told a quart was added. I have taken the car to the another company. They say the plug had not been removed and oil had not been added. If oil was added why wasn't it on the service order.

I believe they wanted to sell me on replacing the gaskets at a cost of $1,204.39. The other service company has suggested I use "stop leak" sealants to see if it would stop the leaks. Why didn't Tyler's discuss or recommend this? I felt like just wanted me to have expensive service done.

They said the tires were rotting. On the same day of the service I had the tires replaced at Discount Tire, and asked if the tires were rotting. They said no.

They told me the left side bumper turning light was out and the bumper would have to removed to replace the bulb. The bumper lights are not connected to the signaling. Again, I had them checked and was told they were functioning properly.

If service is needed or done it should be noted on the service order and not scribbled on a piece of paper.

Joe. I am happy to hear we did one thing right for you. As for the rear differential and oil pan, we re-racked the vehicle and showed you were the leaks were coming from and yes we did add differential fluid but did not charge you for it. The stop leak is something I would not recommend doing, nor will we ever, this is only a temporary fix. I am glad you did indeed replace the tires, they were not in good shape. I would advise taking the vehicle somewhere as well and take care of the air bag light. Overall I am sorry that you were not happy with the service.

The last couple times we took cars in to for simple service ended up in extensive, expensive repairs. The first job went from a simple oil change to nearly $2000 worth of work. The second job ended up costing over $3000. Both times within a week after the additional work was completed, we got notices that additional service was due on the cars which wasn't brought up at the time of service. I won't say the repairs weren't needed, it just turned into much more than expected both in cost and time. Once we decided to have the additional work done we were told when the cars would be available for pick up, and made plans accordingly. In both cases we were told after work had begun that they got the wrong parts in, which required leaving the car for an additional day. They appear to do good work, and I do appreciate that they inspect the vehicle for additional issues. However, the additional problems encountered when they do the additional work does not reflect well on the company.

I brought my car in to have the oil changed it was taken into the garage quickly and the inspection was done and they let me know what was needed, the the whole appointment took about an hour and I was on my way. They were professional and very pleasant to work with.
