University Eye Care of Southern College of Optometry is the first-of-its-kind comprehensive, primary eye health and vision care facility housed on the University of Memphis campus.
Although University Eyecare is conveniently located on campus to serve the University of Memphis students, faculty, and staff, anyone from the public is also welcome to make an appointment as we provide eyecare services to all.
Our facility also has been designed to provide educational opportunities for University of Memphis students in certain health care and public health fields. Southern College of Optometry is one of most prestigious optometry colleges in the nation, so we're pleased to partner to meet the needs of the University of Memphis campus and community.

I brought my teen in for their annual exam and glasses. While they were in the exam I walked over to check out frames. A Dr came out and kept giving me odd looks ... made me feel like what I was doing was bad. Then when I had to get some food for us because my blood pressure was crashing and my teen was due to finish up when I returned I spoke directly to the receptionist asking her to please let my teen know I had to go get some food. She didn't ... really upset :( There was a younger gentleman in the office ... he was nice

I thought Katie and Dr. Huong did a great job of examining my eyes and providing advise for dry eye for which I have suffered many years. Dr. Huong recommended I try a different formulation of 1% cyclosporin drops for dry eye before giving up on product.
I told her that I don't like the oily consistency (from compounding pharmacy) of the drop that blurs my vision for several minutes and it's hard to clear from my eyes once instilled. I've only been using it once/day because I want to avoid the oily nature of drop. She thinks using a different vehicle for drug administration may be available and a potentially successful way to go. I'm up for it!

This was my first visit and I was pleasantly surprised by how good the school is! Since I had an appointment, I had to wait only around 10 minutes before I was assigned someone. I was taken care by Ms Brittney who was really interested in giving me a nice hair cut. She had a instructor come and supervise now and then and finally I had a great hair cut. The shampooing and washing was not anything different than regular stuff. Overall I had a very positive experience and would be willing to go only this place from now on!Read More …

Everyone in the salon seems really prepared and like they take their jobs seriously. The folks in the reception area are knowledgable, friendly, and are good at what they do. My stylist is awesome. She isn't the type of stylist to give you the same trendy haircut you found in a magazine; rather she goes a step above and tailors it to fit you. Overall the salon atmosphere in the salon is great. The banter between stylists is fun but professional, which is not necessarily something I've found elsewhere. The salon is clean, and the equipment seems to be in good shape.
