Hair has always been a passion for Katie Rose. In junior high she began coloring friends' hair, and had planned on attending a Cosmetology programme through her high school in Maine, but soon after moved back to Hawaii. After years of doing friends hair, being told on her first haircut "it's just like cutting fabric", the natural progression after cutting fabric for a living in Seattle was to attend beauty school and translate the lines into haircutting. Followed by an apprenticeship in color at DiPietro Todd and a short time assisting Erik Webb, formerly of Architects and Heroes, Katie mastered the art of hair. She has attended classes at Vidal Sassoon, attended the Redken Exchange, and stays current on color trends and training with Davine's.
