The Clifton veterinarians at Valley Animal Hospital are Dr. Bruce Henderson and Dr. Elizabeth Kozakiewicz. Dr. Henderson graduated from the Purdue College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. He is particularly interested in internal medicine, knee surgeries and geriatric medicine including rehabilitation. He has always been devoted to animals as evidenced by the 2 German Shepherds, 8 cats and 2 birds that 'own' the home he shares with wife Laurie. Dr. Thompson is a native to the Northern New Jersey area. She grew up in Oak Ridge and then attended Fairleigh Dickinson University. After graduating in 2013 with her B.S. in biology and chemistry, she headed to Kansas State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. Although she loved her time spent in the midwest, Dr. Thompson decided to move back to NJ following her graduation in May 2017. Dr. Thompson lives in the Weehawken area with her boyfriend, Mark, and their Kansas cat, Sorlie. When Dr. Thompson is not working, you can expect to find her outdoors. She loves camping, hiking, playing games, and just relaxing. She is excited to work with the wonderful staff at Valley Animal Hospital and feels lucky to have such a supportive team for her first job as a veterinarian. "Above and beyond' is indeed our motto and it is true we will do whatever we can to ensure our clients are happy and our patients lead healthy lives. We provide a high level of care to our patients in Montclair, Nutley, Clifton, and the surrounding areas, using advanced diagnostics and techniques not found in most animal hospitals. Most importantly, we are firm believers in pet wellness and offer all the necessary wellness services!

I am so very happy with the Valley Animal hospital. I have had experiences with all the Dr's at Valley animal hospital and they are all very knowledgeable, caring, truly concerned for your animals well being. The vet techs are just as pleasant, kind & caring.
My Dr. Is Dr. Thompson and she is absolutely the best. I moved here from NY about 3 years ago and was very afraid that I wouldn't find a great vet (as I had in NY), but I was wrong. Dr. Thompson has time and time again proved me wrong about not finding a great vet in NJ (like I had in NY).
She has a wonderful way of treating my animals. She explains everything to me so that I understand her and her directives.
She takes her time with each of my animals as if they were her own. I never feel rushed.
When I call and leave a message for her she calls me back in a timely manner. She is gentel with my animals and also has a good sense of humor.
You can not go wrong with The Valley Animal Hospital; no matter which Dr. You have an appointment with.
I again want to mention that the vet techs and the workers who answer the phones and man the front desk are also wonderful people.
You would be foolish to go to any other Vet; take my word for it!!!! If I could give the practice 100 stars I would.

We were very pleased with how well Duke did with his PT thanks to Tim. Duke was very nervous at his first appointment, but Tim knew how to calm Duke and I saw his behavior was better each time. I was very happy to hear Duke's muscle tone came back along with mobility. We are very thankful to Dr. Henderson for getting Duke back on all fours and appreciate him caring for Duke.

Our cardigan corgi has been coming here since February - a month post-op to repair a ruptured disc. Her hind legs were very weak and she had been on crate rest for a month! with limited activity. We started slowly and gradually increased her workout. She adores Tim and Kelly - she always gets the VIP treatment and she really looks forward to her sessions. She works hard because she has developed a bond with the rehab specialists. We have seen a lot of progress and will continue her sessions until she is back to normal. Dr.Henderson has been wonderful as well - we see him every free months to gauge her progress and modify her rehab. I would highly recommend this facility for injured and older dogs.

Wouldn’t trust anyplace or anyone else with my dogs. Dr Thompson is the best. The facility is clean and bright. Staff is wonderful and caring. I have also used their boarding facilities are great too

This has got to be the NICEST, CLEANEST and most beautiful office I have ever been to! They really go the extra step when it comes to making you feel comfortable and especially explaining anything that they are going to do. This is my first visit since Covid and I had no concerns after seeing what they are doing to keep the office safe. They explained to me that not only do they have air purifiers in all of the rooms, but they also clean the office in between patients with a hypocloric acid mister! Very neat!
