All of the care for my animal was great and they were really friendly. However, they forgot to call me back for over an hour after my dog had been treated at 1am and never apologized or offered a reduction in price. They just said they were really busy.

The staff were great with Thor. They knew he was in pain and their handling of him made him feel comfortable allowing the staff to look at him and help him.

Unprofessional and unreliable. I took my poor dog here, and first of the intake questioned why I brought my dog into an emergency clinics when all her vital signs were normal, than I defended my dogs reason of being there on a Friday night at two am (as if I had nothing better to do) and she said I was attacking her verbally. This is ridiculous having to go through that when your dog is suffering. During COVID it's hard to get an appointment at the vet and I tried plenty before taking her into emergency. Anyways after 2000 they find nothing wrong either her. I take her home the next day to observe her myself turns out she had petromia which is an infection in her uterus. Basically if left untreated your dog will bleed out from her uterus exploding on the inside. This was a serious case and the hospital took it as if it were nothing. It took them three days to get back to me with blood work. When they said they'd call the next day. I had to call them three times to remind them that this was urgent and I was seeing a vet and needed asap. Guess what? I got to the vet before getting a call from the hospital. I also told them that I figured out what she had and asked my vet and he said I was right. So never again will I go or recommend this hospital to any pet owner. You're better off on your own and talking to other pet owners in case of emergency. The lack of knowledge and care they had for my dog proved enough. Everyone that has heard this story has said how awful it is and how that lady should be fired. She shouldn't be working with pets or people. If that was a child and the nurse said something like it would be. Different story.

Doctor Sambi is an Angel sent from Heaven. She was so patient, understanding and offered several options. My senior chihuahua suffers from arthritis and sprained his hind right leg and couldn’t walk. They took the BEST care of him and even ensured a follow up with my regular vet the next day!!! I was also surprised at the amazing low cost for a downtown Toronto emergency vet!!! I would totally recommend!!! Thanks Dr. Sambi and the whole team.

Professional and efficient service but it's time to end curb side pick up for Vet services/consultation for those who are vaccinated and Covid symptom free. This would allow for more accurate and meaningful communication with the specialist and staff.

I was referred to Dr. Mason after my 14 year old chihuahua had been having sneezing bouts since May. She had been on and off antibiotics and nothing was really helping. I was extremely hesitant to anesthetize her for a Rhinoscopy primarily due to her age. Dr. Mason was truly amazing and patient with me and my anxiety. He advised me of the risks associated with this procedure and was upfront about all costs. My girl ended up having to stay overnight as a precaution after nasal biopsy. The many calls I made while she was there were tended to promptly.

I feel like when people write reviews it's mostly to talk about the negatives, but I only had a positive experience here.

VEC provided immediate care for my 9 year old boxer who was suffering from a non healing eye ulcer. Had we waited as long as was necessary to see an ophthalmologist (2-3 month appointment time) she likely would have lost her eye. While at VEC it was discovered that she also had a previously undiagnosed heart issue. Dr Gray not only saw our dog but performed the needed procedure on the same day. We were provided with a detailed report and complete program for her after care. Phone calls during the day by other veterinarians in the department kept us informed and answered all our questions.

We are grateful for the caring, professional and specialized service we received at VEC. Although one always hopes to never need emergency services for their pet, this is the place to bring them should the need arise.

As a new pet owner, I am extremely grateful for access to the VEC. While there was some confusion at first, I appreciate the tender care our kitten received. I believe her overnight stay in intensive care were critical to restoring her to her bouncy and vibrant self. I also appreciate the time that Dr. Lamborne and Marin took to explain the protocols necessary to return our kitten to health.

The administrative team had incorrect information for my contact information and the details of my pet. I spoke with four different team members, and all had other incorrect information. Before all of the information was corrected, my pet was retrieved by a woman to take him inside to his appointment. The woman held up a card with details about my pet, I told her they were incorrect, and she proceeded to take my pet inside anyway. I asked the woman to wait until we had the information corrected, and she ignored me. My pet was confused with another similar-looking animal inside the facility and it took 7 phone calls to get the issue corrected. This is the second time my pet has been mistaken for another animal. The disorganization at this clinic is terrifying and it puts animals at serious risk of injury and malpractice.
