Myself and four of my children have received eye exams at Vincett Eye Care during the summer of 2017. My oldest, 18yo, son went alone and called me to tell me prices of contacts. There was a misunderstanding on what he told me and what I was billed so I called to clarify. The person I talked to was very rude and argumentative, saying how she was there and heard what was said and it was contrary to what I heard (basically saying I was lying). Then she said, unprovoked as I did not ask for it, that I would have to pay $80 for the contact fitting to get my son's prescription. My insurance pays for contact fittings so in fact I owed no money. At my next child's exam, I talked to the eye doctor about my experience and believe she did take action to remedy the situation. I have liked all the eye doctors that I have interacted with. However, at another appointment, I was filing out paperwork for multiple children and put the wrong year on one. The two women working at the desk proceeded to make fun of me for putting the wrong date. I suppose it made their pathetic, insecure lives a little less pointless if a customer mistakenly puts the wrong date when filling out paperwork for multiple children. Add to this the outrageous prices on contacts (I was quoted $240 for 2 boxes that cost $86 for the same two boxes through Walmart) then I do not see myself returning to this location. It is a shame as I do like the eye doctors and feel they are qualified. However there are other eye doctors with kind and compassionate help that does not accuse me of lying or that laughs at my expense. It is a shame for Vincett Eye Care though as they are losing a family of six with insurance and all of us are kind and considerate. I would gladly return if they get rid of their rude staff.
