Ed Shelton started Virginia Automotive 33 years ago after being an automotive mechanic for 12 years. Ed was born and raised in Richmond. Virginia Automotive is a family business. Ed is married with 3 children and his son Brian is a mechanic in the Hopewell location. His brother Teddy is the manager in Hopewell and his two other brothers, Dennis and Ricky are mechanics in the Richmond shop. Ed was passionate about creating a business based on quality of repairs, trust in his recommendations and fair pricing and he has. Through two major downturns in the economy in the past 33 years he has built a business which has been servicing generations of families in the maintenance of their vehicles. But what sets Ed apart from other automotive repair businesses is the compassion he feels towards people. When a van full of girls trying to make their way to a dance competition broke down late on a Saturday, Ed stayed at the shop with his brother Ricky until midnight completing the repairs. They got the van back on the road and the girls came in 2nd in the competition. With two convenient locations, Richmond and Hopewell ,Virginia Automotive continues to apply their theory which is; honest, hard working efforts build loyal customers for a lifetime. We are sorry that you are unhappy. The technichian found that the upper & lower ball joints would not pass on VA State inspection, not rear ball joints. He also recommended the wiper blades, because they were not cleaning the windshield properly. If you would like to come by, we will gladly check out your horn, to see why in is not working.
