The staff was extremely courteous & professional during both of my visits. Dr. Sandberg was both amiable & professional in demeanor during my first visit. However, during my second visit, quite frankly, he made me feel like he couldn't get through with me fast enough.

I had a toenail removed due to fungus. Unfortunately, I suffered from the fungus for over three years, causing the nail to thicken so severely, it became misshapen &, as a result, curled under on one side. The result was that the skin underneath the edge of my toenail became attached or "webbed", so to speak; & the side that was curled dug down deeply into the skin beneath it.

I'm not sure how aware the doctor was of this (if at all) because he barely took the time to look at it. He came into the exam room & administered a local anesthetic to the affected toe before removing the nail. I don't know whether he didn't allow enough time for the anesthetic to take full effect, if he didn't administer enough of it to begin with, or if he didn't administer it in the right location in order to adequately address the area where the nail curled under & the skin was attached.

All I know is that when he pried the nail off, he did so with such force & speed that he not only removed the nail, but also a chunk of the skin from the tip of my toe beyond where the nail ended. And when he did so, I cried out in extreme pain which I was very shocked to even feel considering the fact that the area was supposed to have been numbed by the local anesthetic.

I don't believe he intended to hurt me. But I do believe that he was in a much larger hurry than he should have been. Perhaps if he had spent more than five minutes with me, & checked to make sure the entire area was numbed, it might have gone quite differently. I suppose I'll never know for sure.

Dr. Ritchey is a great podiatrist, but the wait time to see him is ridiculous. I had a 1:45 p.m. appointment, and waited in the waiting room for an hour. I was then put in a room and he didn't come in to see me until 3:08 p.m. This scenario occurs every time I have an appointment with him, and I may have to find another podiatrist in the area. I can't afford to take that much time off from work.

Dr. Heather is an outstanding physician. She took the time to explain the potential reason that my feet hurt. Then she took x-rays and came up with an outstanding plan to get my feet better.

Thank you Dr. Heather for your knowledge and caring!
