I had SUCH an improved experience than previously (Nov 2016) when there was a large mix up at the front desk not only with my credit card number, but the admin taking my original phone request transposed a number in phone number (than proceeded to blame ME for the error!).

Everyone was very nice. There wasn't a long wait time and the doctor was helpful in answering any and all of my questions.

Very friendly staff. Dr. Lamothe is super friendly, professional, and obviously loves what he does.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. I arrived a few minutes early, let them know I was hoping to get in a little early so I could make a meeting, and they saw me right away! When checking out, they were very helpful explaining different aspects of my insurance coverage and which route would be more cost effective in terms of using my insurance coverage for frames or for my contacts. I would recommend Washington Eye Associates to anyone looking for an optometrist.

The doctor was personable and provided information on what he was doing and why he was doing it. He made me feel comfortable throughout my eye examination. Definitely happy I made the choice to come here!

Doctor Lamothe was excellent! He was very patient and explained everything clearly to me. It's very hard to find a great and efficient eye doctor nowadays.

After reading a few reviews on Yelp, I realized I wasn't the only one feeling a bit upset by his staff. The receptionist with the long hair/pony tail was not the most friendly. Although I don't care much about that. The sales associate (sorry I couldn't catch his name, but he had glasses on with no hair) was a bit aggressive. I told him I was interested in getting both new frames and contacts. He informed me of my insurance benefits, and without getting my opinion started telling me how much more savings I would be getting if I use those benefits on the frames and lens.

I understood he was trying to help, but I told him that I definitely need contacts but not necessarily need a new frame, unless I was able to find a great pair and didn't want to rush my decision. My appointment was close to the office's closing hour, so I didn't really want to spend too much time picking out the frames. As a result he had this disappointing look on his face and then showed another associate something on his screen and said to the other guy "you see what I'm saying?", then made this raspberry-like noise with this mouth, all was with me sitting across from him. So in exchange I gave him a bewildered look. He apologized and explained he was just trying to help. To give him credit, he did help me get a good deal on the contacts. But I walked out of the office feeling pretty uneasy, and quite frankly feeling a bit dumb for not picking up a pair of frames since he pressed for it so much.

I will still come back to the office for Dr. Lamothe, but his staff really needs some attitude changes.
