I brought my car in after it had been shifting hard for a short time and finally stopped catching gear all-together. It was described as "slipping" by another mechanic.
Their prognosis was that there were rusted parts and that they wouldn't have to pull the transmission, but the parts were expensive. The transmission repairs came to a little over $900, not including the oil change I requested.
The following morning I turned on the car, flipped it in reverse, accelerated, and nothing. I was already "slipping" again, less than 13 hours later. On top of that, I picked up some all-new clicking noises that I hadn't had before I brought it in, and it still shifts horribly. Note: Aside from that first time I shifted into reverse, the slipping hasn't happened again in the week since I've had my car back.
For that kind of money and to still be having some of the problems that I had before I brought it in, PLUS what appears to be some new ones, I regret taking it to Waterloo.
