I'm really torn about my experience with Waterstone Salon. The atmosphere is wonderful. I like that it's so close to my work and apartment, and the price is competitive for the quality of the services I received.
Unfortunately, I have some issues with customer service. I needed to reschedule my last appointment there, so I called and ended up getting their voice mail. I left a detailed message and my contact information, but wasn't called back to reschedule, or at least to confirm they'd cancelled the appointment time. Leaving a second message on the day of my original appointment was how I got a call back. We rescheduled for later in the week, and in the grand scheme of things, it was only a minor inconvenience. My biggest complaint is with the stylist. Our first appointment was great: he was chatty, friendly, and he gave me a great cut. At my second appointment, his conversation sailed far past the line of appropriateness. I appreciate that stylists are friendly and sometimes informal with their clients, but I don’t want to have an extended, detailed conversation about our sex lives. After trying to redirect the conversation a few times, I finally just stopped responding until he seemed to get the hint.
It’s been two months since my last appointment, and I’m in need of a new cut, but I finally decided that going back to him wasn’t worth it. I’d rather try my luck with someone new.
