Not a pleasant experience.
From a previous exam earlier in the year I was scheduled for services previously agreed to. I met with a new dentist and was told I would not be receiving the agreed to scheduled services but would be receiving a new exam. The reason given was due to the original dentist was no longer there and the new dentist wanted to make her own assessment. This was disappointing.
Now please note, per my insurance plan, I do not have a co-pay on many procedures. So, when I said I am not sure I wanted a certain procedure performed at the same time as others. I was told, “We don’t just do the free stuff.”
I said, “Free? It is not free. I pay insurance premiums every week from my check.”
She said (note: not the dentist, but the lady scheduling the service), “Well we don’t get paid.”
I said, “Well that must be the agreement you have with the insurance provider and should have no bearing on my treatment.”
The dentist called me back with no better results.
I will not be returning. I do not feel good about arguing with people who put sharp instruments in my mouth.
