Our 70 lb.Border Collie mix, Tux, is so much happier today, thanks to Dr. Sheffield and his amazing staff at Wimberley Vet Clinic!
Tux required immediate care, not long ago, for a hip out of place. Dr. Sheffield did x-rays, and showed them to us on the computer screen so we could see and understand. He recommended a specialist for Tux's surgery, and we were seen right away. We knew there would be some awkwardness since Tux would never be 100%. Yesterday at Tux's appt., Dr. S sat down and completely explained the anatomy and abnormalities on the x-rays, and gave me every chance to ask questions and take notes. Bless him, he would even repeat himself until I got it written down correctly.
Dr. Sheffield has diagnosed our little 8 lb. dog, Peanut, with bacterial skin infections, done surgery to remove her tumors, extracted problem teeth, and taken a real concern with her gigantic itching problem. Dr. Sheffield calmly had us try different types of meds until Li'l Pig's allergies are being controlled.
Wimberley Vet Clinic can test my pets for other illnesses that may present the same symptoms, so medications for one condition will not make another condition worse. Testing is expensive, but we discussed the benefits and the options of what we could do without "breaking the bank."
Thank you to all the caring folks at the clinic, our pets are well-loved and well cared for.

Everyone seems to love dogs and makes them feel comfortable. I am pleased with the bi-annual well pet check-up and the shots and meds necessary. Also with the diet instructions .I am uncomfortable with the emphasis on teeth tartar. We have had dogs who have lived for up to 14 years and never had a dental procedure done on them and never had a problem.. It is an expensive procedure and one that puts the dog under anesthetic. I doubt its value.
