An expensive part was replaced on my Mercedes which I discovered the day after the return of my car could have been
Rebuilt. The next morning when I asked for the removed part
I was told the old part had 'already been picked up by the scrap dealer'. I was not offered the part at pickup and The staff
Was eerily defensive in discussing the issue. Either the scrap dealer is smarter than the staff or someone is hiding something.
Overall quite cautionary about decisions to replace versus repair.
This customer had nearly a week to consider all of his options on a fuel pump replacement for a vintage (1969) Mercedes-Benz. He called a day after picking up his car, asking to retrieve the old pump. We explained that we had already disposed of the old pump, and he complained loudly and abusively that we were cheating him. There is nothing more frustrating than dealing with a customer that has "buyer's remorse" and investigates internet options after they have paid for a repair.
