I received an email about a 50% off sale on Ray-Ban frames, with purchase of lenses. I usually look for the fine print in these types of emails. Restrictions on sales are usually located at the bottom text of the email. I didn't see any. After getting a new prescription and picking a new frame, I was informed the sale does not apply to those with vision insurance. It turns out the fine print stating "some restrictions apply" is embedded in small red font at the bottom of the figure, not very visible especially if you are viewing the email on a cellphone. There is no reason for stores to not make these restrictions more explicit and more visible, other than to mislead the customer. I've been getting my eyeglasses from this store for 25 years. Not anymore. I will still go for my eye exams there because Dr. Gutierrez is great, but there are better stores if one wants to get prescription eyewear.
