I brought my car in for diagnosis since it didn't want to start. Diagnosis told me 3 things to replace. The sensor listed was the reason it would not start. That was replaced. It seemed fine until it didn't want to start again, but eventually did. I brought it back to you to check it out. You had it for a week and said you couldn't find anything wrong with it. We planned to have me pick it up that same day. Not 5 minutes after hanging up the phone with you, you call me and said it wouldn't start. What?? Your NEW diagnosis was that it needed the fuel pump replaced. The fuel pump was already replaced before you even started diagnosing it. Your initial diagnosis was the sensor. Why wasn't the fuel pump listed then? You want $600 to replace it, AGAIN. What??? Sounds pretty unpredictable and suspicious to me. I definitely want a second opinion. I had to pay $200 to have it towed home. Thanks for nothing!
Ms. Ploegman brought her vehicle in on two separate occasions, first for a check engine lamp and intermittent no start concern. We could not verify the no start, however we did find the vehicle to have a trouble code set for a failing crankshaft position sensor. Ms. Ploegman decided to have her son perform the repair rather than have us make the repair for her, so we charged her $73.93 in diagnosis time. Approximately three weeks later she returned with the vehicle after having it stall and not restart for her on one occasion, we had the vehicle for a weeks time, test driving it daily. On Friday when it had not provided us any issues we called Ms. Ploegman to she If she wanted to pick up the vehicle, we agreed she would pick up the vehicle and we would park it out front of our office as to make it convenient for her to collect it. When we attempted to move the vehicle it would not start. After some inspection we found the vehicle to have no fuel pressure, we checked for power in the fuel pump circuit and it checked OK, we applied a few taps with a rubber hammer to the bottom of the fuel tank (an old mechanics trick) to see if we could cause the fuel pump to run, it did momentarily and the vehicle started. Ms. Ploegman decided to pick up the vehicle rather than to have us make the repair of the failed fuel pump, we did not charge an additional diagnosis time. We have 100% confidence that there is an issue with the fuel pump and/or its installation. We wish Ms. Ploegman the best and hope that her issue is resolved soon.
