Have used in past and was pleased . Not this boarding experience. My dogs harness was all torn up . Had to throw away. I picked up at 11 from boarding and had to return late afternoon because our dog was coughing and wheasing. She had contracted kennel cough . Had to pay for the Vet exam and meds. Not a good way to spend the first day home from vacation.I also did not receive a message on how they were doing while boarding as I have in the past. I realize illness can't always be prevented but this was not a pleasant experience.

This review is for their boarding services with bath upon pick up

I was SO hoping this would be an overall positive experience, based on reviews - now seen as mostly for Vet services.

Anyway ~

Reception - cool (chilly) and efficient. Offered no assurance my dog would be in good hands.

Girl who came from back to get my dog was friendlier.

Reception upon pick up - cold, and efficient. Stated she had nothing to do with the dogs' care. She did request someone from behind come up front and tell me how my dog did while there.

Reporting man on my dog's stay - very friendly, seemed to know my dog and said he gave him extra attention

Pricing - Competitive

Store front: Clean, not too much in the way of crazy barking in the back

Board services: Left dog bed, toy, chew toy and measured out food (which if used correctly, he would be healthier today) No cameras/live streaming services. No report card

Bath and nail trim. Average.

AFTERMATH - My dog was extremely thirsty when he got home, drinking for a VERY long time. He was "off", but I chalked it up to being worn out from dog care center. But then even his appetite was off. He had some very loose stools. Then from that evening until now - late the next day/evening, he has had several bouts of diarrhea and vomiting. He won't even eat a treat. He's SO unhappy :(

Seems crazy that they require more in health standards to board there, yet send them home SO sick!

Atlantic Animal Hospital replied:

Thank you for speaking with me and I am glad to hear that Grizz has recovered from his illness. After discussing your concerns it seems this is his typical response to any boarding environment and that possibly a pet sitter will keep him more comfortable. We appreciate both your positive comments and the items that we can work to improve upon. I am certainly happy to provide you with pet sitting references and are here for you should the need arise in the future. We will also note his personal sensitivities to strange sounds and treats to cater his stay even more to his needs.

I love, love, love this salon, from the stylists & receptionists to the d├ęcor and "vibe"!! I had a balayage, which is a fairly new and very trendy technique, and my stylist, Brittany, did an amazing job! She is very detail oriented and thorough, as well as being very warm and personable! This is an esthetically beautiful salon with an incredibly talented staff that everyone in Wilmington should experience!
