The Animal Emergency & Referral Center of Minnesota was established over 30 years ago by a group of veterinarians who wanted to provide their clients with quality veterinary care during non-business hours.
We started out with one clinic, one veterinarian, and one technician! Over the years, our hospitals have grown, and we highly value the relationships we've built with local veterinarians, pets and owners in the many communities we serve. Today, we employ a wide variety of doctors and health care team members all specially trained in emergency and critical care--in addition to a growing referral practice for when your pet just isn't feeling like himself.

Thank you to all who helped in the care of Gürdy the german shepherd pup. For such a sad experience for our family, we felt she was in the best hands. We were updated at least daily by the staff and were very accommodating with our drop in visits. We cant thank you all enough:) your great
The doctors that we worked with were knowledgeable, professional, calm, and friendly. We were seen immediately and felt that our dog was in the best care at all times. Aside from this, they saved our dog's life and he seems to be recovering well.
We arrived around 9:30 am with our 11 year old cat who had been vomiting blood since earlier in the am. They took to a room and took his vitals. They explained everything clearly including costs before anything was done. Their was a mechanical problem with their blood work machine so it took a really long time. They updated us frequently on the situation so we knew what the delay was which was appreciated.
I think her care was very good however I'm not sure my instructions for her food were followed. Lucy only likes fancy feast gravy lovers and the Purina dry food and the treats I provided. I brought enough with for her to have a bunch of her treats and a fresh can of her fancy feast at each feeding. Expecting whatever wasn't eaten from previous meal to be tossed and a new can given. From what saw that wasn't done. When she got home we gave her food right away and she literally ate the whole can, something she never does. That would be my only criticism and I could be wrong on that. Other than that the staff were all wonderful and I was as comfortable as one can be leaving my little one in someone else's care.
The care that the staff and Dr. Shadwick provided for Pumpkin was outstanding! Never once did I feel that my pet would leave with questions and care unanswered. I would trust them COMPLETELY with all my animals. Nothing but positive comments can be made about my first trip there. I DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED them!!!!
