Salon 1550 has closed its doors, but a new salon has taken its place. Ardent Salon opened its doors for business on October 28, 2011. "The word 'ardent' means 'passionate,' so our new name will reflect our attitude about hair and beauty much better than the previous salon," said owner Angie Tyson, who recently opened Ardent Salon. "We are committed to providing all your hair salon needs along with wonderful, new services. We see it as our responsibility to provide the very best salon services to Memphis." The refurbished salon space, located at 1550 Bonnie Lane in Cordova, has all new equipment and decor. The business employs a staff of over twenty and provides a full range of salon services. "We will operate in a different fashion than the salon which formerly occupied this location, and customers can expect a higher level of care and service. It's a new, exciting adventure for us and everyone here is ecstatic about the future of Ardent Salon."
