After a history of bad childhood experiences with dentists, I'm always a bit nervous with finding a new dentist, and hated losing the one I trusted when he moved. I've tried more than once to find that same level of trust I used to have. The first thing I will look for is cleanliness. I have a compromised immune system, so if a tech puts gloves on and then touches all the equipment and key boards before putting those gloved fingers in my mouth, that is a sign for me to run. Atriem was very obviously conscience of cleanliness. The next thing I watch for is how staff get along with each other and the dentist. Where there is tension I feel that too. Everyone was so friendly and respectful of each other, as well as with the patients. Atriem also didn't push a lot of procedures on me I really didn't need, which I greatly appreciate. I like knowing my options, but honesty to follow with how vital those options are for overall health. The gal at the front desk handling insurance and appointments, is nothing short of amazing. That gave me the final confidence I needed, with knowing I wouldn't have billing hassles from coordination of insurance benefits. I've only had my first appointment with Atrium, but all the checks on my list to pass will bring me back!
