The studio was established in 2001. The first of its kind in DC, we are pleased to be part of the community for over 10 years now. We pride ourselves on our warm, welcoming approach with our students and encourage everyone regardless of their experience or level of fitness to advance at their own pace; to go only as far as you can, and then go further. Bikram Yoga Tenleytown was completely renovated in 2011. It is thoroughly cleaned from top to bottom daily. We feature POWERBOND(TM) hybrid resilient floor covering in our yoga room which is 100% waterproof. It insures that no moisture penetrates under the flooring thus allowing any surface contaminants to be removed by vacuum and hot water extraction. We heat the room with three separate forced air heating units complemented by a fourth fresh air-only system. There are showers in the changing rooms that are stocked with shower gel, shampoo, hair dryers and other toiletries for your convenience. Enjoy complimentary fresh fruit after weekend classes. Bikram Yoga Tenleytown is conveniently located between Friendship Hgts and Tenleytown Metro stations. Free 2 hour parking is available in the neighborhood behind the studio. The entrance to our studio is behind the building in the alley, on the second floor. Careful not to be late, because our door will be locked once class begins. You can park on Ellicott Street or any of the surrounding residential streets in the neighborhood for two hours.

I really like coming to bikram yoga at tenleytown. The instructors are relaxed, knowledgeable, attentive and consistent. I feel comfortable working on my yoga and trust the instructors to offer guidance/praise during the class.
I do wish carpeting was not used (less odor trapping) but I realize this is also state of the art flooring for our safety. I have been to other centers and noted the difference with the type of flooring. That will not deter me from coming to tenleytown.

Thank you Pattie! I appreciate your feedback and the kind words about the staff at Bikram Tenleytown. The type of flooring used in the yoga room is called PowerBond. Its a resilient type of flooring that looks like carpet but not actually carpet. The backing is 100% waterproof so that no moisture can get to the base which can cause mold and mildew to grow. We use a high powered extractor to clean the surface once a week and the sweat stains are treated immediately after class. Although it might seem that a wood floor is a better way to go, but only until someone slips, than it's no longer good. Im glad you've had a good experience with your practice so far.
