It was one of the single worst experiences I have ever had at any appointment anywhere. I have been there several times before and had a regular cleaning and later had to have some Perio work. My insurance paid them for the regular cleaning and half of the Perio work.
I am disabled with hyperacusis. They all know this. I asked them to make an appointment when they were not expecting a lot of people so I would not be in as much pain. The woman on the phone appeared to cop an attitude and put me in a Friday 3 PM slot. I showed up on time and sat there and waited with a bunch of children making noise. One even had yo-yos.
I get in the chair and they examined me and they tell me they can't give me a regular cleaning because I need Perio work. I said but we've been through this before and you've always given me a regular cleaning and then sent me to Perio. Are you really going to send me out of here without cleaning my teeth? Nothing?
You're telling me that a disabled person dragged themselves out of bed, showered and got dressed, drove here with the noise of the roads, showed up on time, is exposed to all kinds of harmful noises with no accommodation for the disabled, and you are sending me away without cleaning my teeth? My insurance will pay for it.
I waited something like three months for this appointment. That is ridiculous, they refused to make any accommodation for my disability which is illegal by the way – read the ADA - and then I'm sent away empty-handed.
I started crying. Then I sat in my car and cried. Then I came home and cried. So here I sit with my dirty teeth and needing an actual dentist.
If I could give -5 stars that would be my rating. (partially because I once had them remove a mercury filling and the woman suctioning the Mercury was turned around and talking to somebody else and not even holding the suctioning near my mouth to get the deadly poison)
