I am a physician, fully vaccinated and with the booster. I brought my dog Ghost to your practice yesterday. We have been faithful customers for 30 years. If I wear a mask there is absolutely no reason why I could not bring my dog inside.
My dog Ghost didn’t want to be taken Buy your assistant without me along side. When I spoke to the veterinarian after the visit she told me he was very frightened and afraid the whole time. This may also date back to about a year and a half ago when I did come inside and they took them in the back for a shot. I could hear him wailing and screaming because I wasn’t there And I believe he was handled roughly. He was friendly to a fault and has never bitten anyone. I doubt if I am the only owner and dog who has similarly been frightened by being taken away by a stranger without their owner.
My expectation is that in a month or two when most of the Covid cases are gone, and particularly when they are considered to be similar to a common cold or flu, your policy will be reversed. Otherwise, unfortunately, I will have to change veterinary practices as there are at least two others equally near me that allow the owners to be with their pets.
I would appreciate a phone call from the office manager and one of the veterinary owners to discuss this further.
