Our doctor (Ogilvie)was wonderful, caring, and he helped my dog with treatment for lymphoma. His skills were outstanding, and he was available for calls when necessary. I liked and trusted him very much. The one thing that would have helped me a great deal would have been more clear communication about the prognosis for my dog when his response and options for treatment began getting complicated. When my dog suddenly began having major problems after an infection and could not receive treatment, no one prepared me for the possibility that he would quickly have so many problems and discomfort that he would need to be released. He was enjoying walking on the trails and eating, playing, and in only a matter of days his whole world changed...and so did mine. Because he was such a brilliant doctor, I can't help but wonder if he did not anticipate this, and if so, why he did not help prepare us rather than let us leave thinking we would be coming back for treatment the following week. This hospital is so important, and such a good place ..I feel we were VERY I fortunate to have the help we did...( don't think we could have had better) and I only want to say that the communication about our situation would have helped us with the challenges at hand, and possibly made it a little less traumatic since it was so unexpected for the moment in time.
