I had my teeth cleaned the other day and the girl who cleaned them was not as thorough as Cindy was. I didn't get her name, but she was the heigenist with the lighter hair. I felt like she hurriedly went from one tooth to the other I was especially disturbed that she handled the cleaning instruments on the tray before putting her gloves on.. Also she did not have her mask covering her nose as was worked on my teeth, so I was looking at nostrils and her breathing right in my face. NOT A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE. I am not sure how well they clean the area between each patient, but it bothers me when they touch other things in the area with their gloves on. ( like drawers, their chair, suction instrument, sprayer etc....) and then put their glove in my mouth to continue working. Later when Dr. Williams came to exam my mouth , I needed suction, so she handled the instrument with out her gloves on. Also when Dr. Williams did come in, the heigenist had not told her I was ready to be examined. She just happened to come in and see there was nothing going on in the room I was in.

One of our driving principles at Catey Williams Dental is respect for our patient's time. We pride ourselves on staying on schedule and trying our best to accomodate our patient's schedule requests. We do our very best to stay within the alloted appointment time, but never sacrifice quality dentistry for quick appointments. Dr. Williams and this hygienist simply used differenct hallways. Dr. Williams approached the room and asked if the patient was ready for a check.
Our office follows strict guidelines for cleanliness and disinfection. Every surface is sprayed and wiped prior to any patient being seated in the room. Many surfaces have one-time-use barriers which are disposed of following each appointment.
Change is difficult, for some, and we certainly apologize in advance for any inconvience to our patients. We want your dental experience to be as stress-free as possible. We welcome suggestions and will evaluate how and what we can improve to provide excellent care for all.
