In the past I was really impressed with the work. However, on this visit, I was put with an outside visiting vet. She did not perform any physical, and I was charged 55 dollars for it. They lanced a small lump on my teddy bear hamster, it took about 5 minutes and gave me antibiotics for 12 days at 279.00. I was charged 90 dollars for anesthesia of which was only 5 minutes. I feel very overcharged for the work that was performed. They also said I would be charged for a follow up appointment of 55 dollars to start if I wanted to come back. The lump came right back, and I am not paying their charges again. I felt really taken advantage of. Most vets put the fee of an exam into the surgical fee. I have worked in rescue for 25 years - sitting on several boards and working with several vets, so I am pretty familiar with various fees and work performed. I had asked for the office manager to call me, and they have never contacted me back. No one ever called to check on him to see how he was doing after the procedure. Dr. Nolan is a wonderful vet - he was the one I had requested for my appointment. I was very unhappy with this visit and feel I was really taken advantage of, no follow up and no consideration of what I felt was an over-charge for this simple appointment.
