This was my first visit to a dermatologist. I was referred and appointment was made by my family physician. Family doctor was concerned about a skin condition on my cheek that she said might be melanoma. That set up some anxiety in my mind when I came to your office. I also did not know who I would be seeing on this first visit, so I was a bit anxious about that too. The office staff was very helpful in getting me started with the necessary initial paperwork. Then my first encounter was with the medical assistant, Mo. She was very nice and got me set up for the dermatologist visit. After a short wait, Fiona Blunt came in to see me. She very quickly made me feel more at ease. She did a full body exam and clearly explained all the skin conditions she found as she progressed. And she made me feel much better when she said the condition on my cheek (as well as all the others) were keratosis, and pretty normal for my age and nothing to worry about. She did find a small viral wart on my wrist and she said she could burn that off, which I agreed to do. She clearly explained the process as she did it. When I told her my feelings when the family physician mentioned possible melanoma on my cheek, Fiona stated that she could remove the spot (which would heal nicely and look better than that dark spot), and she could send a sample for biopsy to ease my mind that it was not cancerous. And she could do it immediately. She made me feel very calm with her thoroughness, knowledge, professionalism and caring nature. I agreed to the procedure. It was painless, and Fiona explained as she removed the tissue that it showed all the typical traits of keratosis with no signs of cancerous tissue, which also eased my mind. Both Mo and Fiona were EXCELLENT! They did a superb job of making me feel calm and in very good hands, and my procedure seems to be healing very well, now Day 6 after the tissue removal. All in all, I am extremely pleased with my experience with your excellent facility, and especially with Fiona and Mo.
