While my 18 mo old screamed the entire time for really no reason whatsoever (even before she was being "examined"), the doctors and staff at CDM were incredibly patient and kind. Of course, all those tears this put my and my husband's stress and anxiety levels up as well! But, every person there tried reassure us that our daughter's behavior was “normal” and did their best to help my daughter try and relax (no easy feat let me tell you!). Although I probably could have waited a bit to have her teeth checked out (the ped. suggested 2 years), the visit was complementary, and it was reassuring to know that everything looked OK.
My 3.5 year old had never been to the dentist before, and again, I was a little nervous about how she would react -- and if we had waited too long to take her. In truth, everything was fine. She watched one of her favorite disney jr shows, wore some "cool" sunglasses, and left with a prize -- totally un-phased by her sister's screaming. She has been chatting about the dentist -- and what the dentist says -- all weekend.
As a final note, it has definitely reduced the stress in teeth brushing for both children (and me). They are now very excited to use their tooth brushes and want to do so all of the time.
I will be bringing both children back here :)
