My bathroom remodel in my opinion was not that complicated but the project became quite an ordeal. The scheduling of the work was not very efficient, which resulted in the job taking longer than it should have. There was a lot of wasted time.
For what I paid for the project I certainly expected better quality and am disappointed with some of the workmanship. For example: the shower pan did not end up being square and is 3/4" wider on one end which resulted in the decorative floor tile not being cut the same width; the plumber did not install the sink faucet handle trim evenly - which I had to correct. He also did not install the stringer squarely on the studs which resulted in the shower control valve to be closer to the finished wall on one end which prevented one screw holding the trim plate on to not thread in completely; during the vanity selection process it was not mentioned that the vanity did not come with a backing nor was trim moulding included - all of this was ultimately provided but led to extra work and delay.
The biggest mess was the fact that the shower pan dam/curb was not level. This complicated the installation of the lower track for the shower door resulting in the need for an excessive amount of caulking to be needed to seal the gap. Once this was brought to Creative's attention it resulted in the tile on the curb/dam being reset and leveled. Unfortunately, during the replacement of the shower door one of the glass doors was broken and although Creative replaced the broken door at no cost to me it delayed the use of the shower by almost another week.
I used Creative Interior Solutions and bore the extra cost of using a remodeling contractor so as not to have to deal with separate sub-contractors myself and with the expectation that the quality of work would be monitored by Creative and issues like I encountered would be identified and corrected right away. Unfortunately, I was mistaken.
