My experience there is white unpleasant. I trusted the staff to give an accurate/honest diagnosis of my vehicle which in turn became a headache. I took my car there to give a diagnosis of issues I was having with my high/low beam lights. The initial diagnostics went as follows:

1) needs new lamps

2) need igniter

3) needs ballast for headlights.

The service department also inquired about wiring issue but when asked if wiring harness needed replacing or if electrical tape could temporarily resolve issue, the service department stated that electrical tape could be a solution to electrical issue. All items listed above (lights, igniter, ballasts) were replaced.

Service department then informed me that lights were inoperable due to programming issue. At this point only high beam lights work, programmer was tasked to resolve light issue. Then I received a call requiring me to purchase another ballast. The process of fixing my lights has become a complex issue. My experience with Dave's Ultimate Automotive has not been a pleasant experience and my car still remains in the auto shop after 2 weeks of service. 19Oct2016

While the tech that serviced my car was nice and the work he performed (oil change only) was satisfactory, my experience with Dave's left me feeling like I was in a bad SNL skit. The front desk employees were highly unprofessional.

I scheduled my appt online using their website by clicking on the Schedule Coupon Service link under the oil change coupon and completing all required fields. I walked in and not one of the 3 employees at the front desk bothered to look up, smile or greet me right away. Finally, Josh asks how he can help me, still without a smile. I tell him that I have an 11:00 for an oil change, he asks my name, checks his computer and looks at me completely baffled. He informed me 3 times that the printout they received didn't specify what service I was wanting, says "it has your name, states that it is a coupon service but nothing else", he even shows me the form. I'm thinking, there's my phone number and my email....you couldn't CALL to verify the service?! Moving on, one of the 3 comes out with a bowl of chili and has Josh try it WHILE he is waiting on me. Then that same man takes over for Josh and finishes getting me processed....no idea why I changed hands.

While I sit in the lobby waiting, I get to learn that Josh had to rush off because his son opened the door for a someone while mom was in the shower and there may be a stranger in the house...why do I know this, I don't want to know this?! Carry, the female at the front desk then proceeds to discuss how she would have just used her pistol to handle the situation. She continues with more chattering and talking the entire time I wait, along with eating her lunch very loudly at the front desk, smacking and chewing while on the phone with a vendor, calling everyone baby, honey and sweetie, including a 65+ female customer. Everyone is ma'am to me, I have been in customer service a long time and I am from Texas...it's still not okay to refer to clientele as honey and sweetie just because we are in the South. Yet another customer comes in for the free diagnostic, the chili guy goes out and is gone awhile. Carry says to the customer waiting, "I think he must have forgotten how to do a diagnostic scan". Way to give people confidence in your work! Then when he comes in and is explaining to the customer what he found from the scan, Carry chimes in "see that is why I don't drive a Hyundai"....so now she is insulting the customer and her choice of vehicle. Multiple times Carry yelled across to another employee in an open office. Next, I get to hear the chili guy slurping his lunch at the front desk....does this place not have a breakroom and offer lunch breaks to their employees?? Finally, my car is done, thank goodness!!! Now time to checkout and the bill is almost $70 instead of $50 like the coupon states. When I ask about the price difference, chili guy says "I didn't know you had a coupon". He sat right there and overheard the discussion when I first arrived! Also, if I schedule a coupon service through your website, why do I then have to inform the employee that I signed up for the coupon service at checkout?! The front office seems very poorly mismanaged, unbelievably unprofessional, disorganized and tacky.

I chose to give Dave's a try based on all the wonderful reviews I saw on yelp. But I realized while in the office they have a review contest going on and that people left good reviews in hopes of winning something. Maybe the technicians are amazing but I don't see myself returning when I need my brakes done in a couple of months just because of the ridiculous customer service and front office atmosphere. I was truly hoping to find a new mechanic for my car because my tech has left Austin, no such luck. If I could give 1/4 a star instead of 1 star that would be more fitting. I wonder if I will win the review contest now?!
