In response to your comments regarding the iPad Kiosk and going paperless, we have an obligation to follow rules and regulations that our government sets. Every medical and dental facility is required to be paperless by 2014 so we are making changes early, not only so we can get used to it but getting our patients used to it as well. It is actually beneficial in collecting information direct from the patient (who would otherwise be filling out papers on a clipboard) and reducing mistakes that might be made when someone has to re-enter the information from the paper forms. You just can't read some peoples writing! Also, it takes the patient much less time on the iPad than it does filling out papers.

The front desk has always been the source for getting updates on patients health and medications via: clipboards and paper forms given to fill out every six months (as required by law). We find having that information in our system prior to the patient being seated for their appointment helps the Dentist and Hygienist review the information much more quickly which makes for less time in the chair for the patient! Who wouldn't like that? That is good customer service.

We have a great working environment and the view can't be beat! People have lives and in those lives changes and circumstances exist and are sometimes out of our control (especially the weather here). Not everyone stays in the same job for 50 years.

We are sorry that the iPad upset you to the point of wanting to go elsewhere but I think you are going to find the same technology in other dental offices and at your Dr.'s office as well. HIPPA Laws are driving this change so you can always talk to the law makers and voice your unhappiness.

We will still take cash and checks until the government regulates that too.
