Thank you for your feedback, Carol. I would like to respond by stating some of the facts since your comments are strictly from your perspective. First, technicians do not remove contact lenses from patient's eyes. This is always done by a doctor in our office. I know that he has done this for you a few times in the past at no charge as a courtesy to you. This appointment was an emergency visit on a fully booked Saturday. We worked you in between patients, while others waited for their prescheduled appointments while the doctor removed your lens. Doctor preferred to remove it rather than have you go to an emergency room. In addition to the contact lens removal, he performed a slit-lamp exam with fluorescein to determine if there were any scratches on the cornea. His time was approximately 10 minutes. Secondly, It was a difficult removal, according to Dr. Potter. The reason it looked simple is because he is a doctor and he is good at it. The Blink was offered to you because you stated you had no wetting solution at home in case this happens again. $64.00 is our fee for a short office visit. The Blink is $6.50 which is comparable to other pharmacies. Third, for reasons outside of our control, no patients have received letters yet, and patients are being told as we see them in the office. A letter will be coming soon .When you told me you did not want to see us any more or receive any communication from our office due to the charge for your visit, I informed you that we would be closing. Fourth, for patients who wear contact lenses continually, especially RGP, they will usually find that the optics are better with the contact lenses. It does not mean that the glasses will not "work," only that you will find your vision to be "sharper" and your peripheral vision to be better with your RGP's. We have not forgotten our ethics, we merely charged for a service the doctor performed. I am sorry, but I cannot apologize for that. I just feel that facts should be presented in order to make this a fair review. Paula Potter, Office Manager
