April 4, 2016: I was recently at Fountain Tire Kaska Road for a tire change and for mechanical work. When I dropped off my tires, I physically unloaded the tires into the loading docks (after dropping off my vehicle for mechanical work, I returned to drop my tires off for a tire change). I informed the mechanic that I was dropping off tires and I was directed to a location where I could place them. Therefore, I physically went into the shop with flip flops on to drop off my tires.
After I picked up my vehicle, I noticed my winter change of tires were not in my rear-seat or in the trunk. I informed the front-desk clerk of this and he informed me that if I drive to the bay loading doors, they would be waiting for me. When I arrived there, I provided my last name, make and model of my vehicle and the directions provided by the front-desk clerk. The mechanic and I looked around the shop and did not find my tires. I was instructed to wait outside and the mechanic would find them for me.
The mechanic returned after approximately 5 minutes with my tires with no bags on them (tires were dirty from natural wear). I inquired if bags were available and was informed they ran out. I directed the mechanic to bags I can visually see hanging on a rack that are white and say "fountain tire" (same type of bags that I brought my tires in with). I was informed those were their last bags and there was no other way to wrap them to keep my backseats clean.
I then inquired if they had anything I could put on my back seats to reduce the level of dirt on my seats. The mechanic suggested cardboard which I confirmed would work. After I was given cardboard, I was left to place the cardboard and load my dirty tires into my vehicle. Consequently, I will have to clean my vehicle back seats due to dirt and grime from the tires. I understand their has been a change in ownership several years ago, and the change is noticeable.
I was very disappointed that as the customer, I had to physically load and unload my tires into my vehicle and further had to suggest methods to reduce the level of dirt in my vehicle through the store's inability to supply their mechanics with sufficient materials.
I have never written a review for any mechanical or restaurant provider however, I truly am disappointed in how as the customer I was treated I am obligated to leave a review. I will not be returning to Fountain Tire Kaska road other than for seasonal tire changes as I already purchased tires from the store. I have also instructed my family members (3 other vehicles who have been past customers) of my experience to which they were highly disappointed and will no longer be customers.
