I've always had a very positive experience at The Green Drop Garage. In fact, that's an understatement. I purchased my 2001 Jetta TDI in February 2013 and have taken it in for service and some maintenance to keep the car in tip top shape.
I've had glow plug replaced, the EGR valve cleaned out, the brakes replaced, and an oil change, and the car is running smooth. I get 45mpg, and the car has some power for being a diesel.
What really makes Green Drop stand out is the customer service. They do a lot of different things for the community and do things to show their customers that they care. Last time I was in, they left a bottle of Rogue Rose Festival Ale in my car. I made it a goal to not buy alcohol again until I'm completely debt-free (but people can give me alcohol :D ) It was a nice surprise!
Although I take the bus when I leave my car, they also will give you a discount on a Car2Go if you need wheels. They also lend out bicycles. They also are a bit more technology-oriented than many other shops I've dealt with in the past. As a software application developer, I can appreciate doing business with someone who can send me appointment reminders to my smartphone or let me book an appointment online. There's a lot of conveniences that they've put in place that show they're thinking outside the box and finding ways to make it more convenient to maintain your vehicle.
I've recommended Green Drop to folks I work with. There's a few other VW owners at my work, and since our office is moving downtown, that will make it even more convenient to get service.
