My iPhone was damaged by water and I was told by my provider that there was nothing they could do but to sell me a new phone. I then took my phone to iCare and they fixed my phone within hours for a reasonable fee! I was very impressed by their quick service and the friendly and positive vibe of the shop. Thanks iCare!!!

Barry thank you for your review. If you look at our other reviews you will see that this review is a rarity for us. Allow me to cover some of the points for you and others who may be reading this review.
When you initially called us you told us you had attempted the repair yourself and it didn't go so well and were wondering if we could fix those issues.
I personally talked with you and told you that we could more than likely address the non functional digitizer with a new screen replacement but would have to see the device first.
Whenever a device comes into iCare we perform a pre repair diagnostic on the devices. The condition of your iPad prevented us from doing so.
The next steps we took was to replace the front glass digitizer to perform a diagnostic test on it and as we opened the device up we noticed that you had torn the right/ GPS cellular antenna on the iPad. We also noted that the WiFi antenna had been torn by you as well as the display being damaged. There were other issues with the device as well which we will indicate later.
Normally the repairs that were presented to us would have been over $500. However I felt compelled to help you . So I did my best to reduce the repair cost down to labor charge on one of the processes and then a strict parts only charge. I proposed a repair price of $175. We try to take care of each and every one of our customers to the best of our ability.
We had to order parts in that in 3 years of repairing devices I have never had to replace. That is how rare & extensive the damage you had done was.
You are correct our disclaimer does state a 90 day warranty and we honor our warranty to its full extent. However so that we are discussing the disclaimer without partiality allow me to add in another line from the disclaimer,
"I understand that iCare Repair & Design shall not be held liable for any prior work that has been done on my device, regardless of repair facility"
...additionally,
"Furthermore, I understand that all repairs are of an uncertain nature and that devices may or may not be able to be repaired."
We also were working on your device to rectify the problems when you contacted us. Our repair tech explained the issues we were having with the device and here are the notes that were entered in our CRM that were also explained to you,
"Device came in missing many components. Replacement of Wifi Cable, Cellular antenna cable, Power Flex, and Bezel. Replacement glass came from customer, minor flaws in the bottom left I was unable to clean off, does not change functionality. Minor on and off glitches with front camera causing app to freeze. Couldn't get the iPad to connect to cellular network even after replacing antenna."
You insisted that we just send the device back to you because it had been too long already.
The items that were damaged were damaged by you during your attempt to repair the iPad which would have been a 1 day $125 repair if you would have just initially sent it in to us rather than attempt the repair yourself.
We repair iPads for 15 school districts throughout Minnesota & North Dakota as well as our regular walk in customers. We see approximately 100 ipads per month so we are no stranger to the iPad repair however we are not able to repair damage that is caused by an individual's failed iPad repair attempt. In most cases we are however your work permanently damaged the device beyond the scope of repairability
I also offered to have you send back the iPad and we would strip out the parts we put into the device and refund your money back to our standard minimum service charge of $25 which you said you wanted us to refund your full amount which we need to cover our labor costs. In addition you wanted us to refund your full $188 before you would send it back to us which we did not feel was a reasonable request.
We apologize for any inconveniences and are willing to refund you back to a $25 minimum if you will send the device back to us and we will pay to ship the remainder of the device back to you.
