It was obvious they work off commission. The doctor was still answering my questions when a knock at the door came and she just stood there and waited so I felt forced to stop talking and not ask any more questions. Once we got out to the lobby where the glasses are I was told to have a seat and then she brought over frame options (of course they were expensive name brand frames). After she made fun of my current frames I finally mustered up the courage to ask if I could take a look on my own to find some that I like. Of course she agreed but at this point I was so turned off and just left with my prescription. I ended up going to Lens Crafters where I was not pressured into anything, was able to pick out what I liked and was given honest feed back from the staff that was not in it just for the commission.

I want to first apologize for your recent experience, as it seems we definitely missed the mark of our mission which has always been to offer the best experience possible for each and every patient. Having said that, I would like to share a couple of things with you: First, the staff does NOT work on commission. Rather, we strive to provide the best solution to each person, on an individual basis. We have found that each patient has their own unique circumstances with respect to visual demands and associated cost for satisfying those demands. We simply do our best to educate the patient about all their options, the related pros and cons, and the associated out of pocket costs. Ultimately, we want you to decide what makes the most sense to you. We are just here to better inform and guide your decision making process. This approach has served us and our patients quite well over the years. Secondly, the ?knock at the door? was actually summoned by the doctor (via silent paging system), NOT the staff member interrupting your exam to move you out into the optical to sell you something as your review implies. In our practice we like our optical staff to be as informed and aware as possible as to your specific wants and needs so they can better serve you. In my 20 years of caring for patients, it is my professional opinion that having the optical staff present at the conclusion of the eye exam is a great benefit to the patient experience, as it helps to remove communication errors and allows everyone to ?be on the same page?. I acknowledge that no system is perfect and apparently something definitely got lost in translation with respect to your visit. Also, the optical team is trained to help guide you with your frame selection, so as to ensure your happiness with your final purchase. This is not a sales tactic, but rather a ?let?s get to know you and your preferences? conversation. Presenting you with various frames to look at allows us to find out your opinion on options available to you in the most complete and efficient manner possible. I have been coming to your shop for a year now. I am very happy with my hair color that I get each time. But lately when I go for color the gal is working on two of us at a time. This makes her hurry to get my color on and hurry to get me shampooed and blow dry. It didn't happen before, just the last two times I have gone to get a service. I understand that time is wasted while the color processes but I guess the problem is that I feel like the gal is hurrying to get everything done.
