I hadn't seen a dentist in many years. When I became afflicted with a significant abscess causing me excruciating pain, I began calling local dentists to get an affordable appointment ASAP. Ballard Family Dentistry was the only one able to accommodate me almost immediately. During my very short wait in the lobby, I found the front-office staff to be very friendly, professional, courteous, efficient and easy to work with. Once I was taken back, the dental assistant began preparing me right away, was very sensitive to my situation, was very informative about what I could expect throughout my visit, and did an excellent job at setting a worry-free atmosphere. I can't over-emphasize what an amazing dentist Dr. Wesley is! Because of the terrible pain I was in, and knowing that I was about to be stuck, cut, etc., I was under a high degree of anxiety. Despite this anxiety, Dr. Wesley's great personality and perfect bedside manner made me feel comfortable and confident. Before I knew it, we were underway with drainage of the abscess and extraction of the offending tooth. Dr. Wesley was very educational and informative, explaining to me at every step in the process what he was about to do and why, and gave me the option to stop or slow down if needed, effectively eliminating the "fear of the unknown." To my astonishment, given how much pain I was suffering when I arrived, he got me through the procedure unbelievably comfortably, and we were finished before I knew it. As I don't currently have dental insurance and had to pay out-of-pocket, I was very pleased at the low cost of the high-quality services I received. I didn't look at the clock when I left, but it seems that my entire visit, from arrival to departure, was around an hour. The relaxed office atmosphere combined with the friendliness of everyone I met there made me feel more like I was around co-workers and/or friends than in a dentist's office. I'll definitely be going to Ballard Family Dentistry and would recommend them to anyone!
