While the professionalism and caring of the dental team was amazing, I cannot say the same for the way the office is run. After not one but TWO appointments for my four year old's broken tooth with a visible cavity, and an entire appointment dedicated to discussing sedation vs. gas for tooth extraction, i was informed by the scheduling staff AFTER our second appointment that their office is no longer scheduling appointments for tricare patients. So now we have had two appointments and two sets of x-rays applied to our yearly max for a procedure the office will not even schedule. Now we have to make an appointment with a third dentist just to extract a tooth. Regardless of the quality of their dental staff, I cannot recommend any dentist who would waste a patient's time and money. We already knew her tooth was broken and would require a filling or extraction, so the lack of transparency coupled with the additional cost of this second opinion by Konikoff (the first was also in the Konikoff family) appears to be nothing more than a scam to collect money for a procedure they will not even schedule due to my insurance. They have every right not to accept my insurance, but they should have the professionalism to inform a patient before performing X-rays or exams that they will not accept said insurance or schedule a procedure to correct any issues. They were highly recommended by a close friend, but I find myself even more frustrated as I will now have to pay for a third evaluation and X-rays to correct the same problem. I would not recommend this office to any one of my friends and family for this reason.

Let us clarify our policy relative to those families with United Concordia Tricare Dental Insurance. We will gladly see your child as an out-of-network provider and file your insurance claims. Our goal is for you not to incur any out-of-pocket expense for dental hygiene (cleaning) visits that you have become accustomed to with your current dental plan. We will accept the payment from UCCI for all cleanings as "payment in full". We will also give you a 25% discount off our standard fee for all doctor treatment as a way to offset your "out-of-pocket" expense for utilizing us as your out-of-network provider.
