Yesterday a crown that Krueger Dental did the initial fitting/placement on, came off, for the 3rd time! It was insinuated that the tooth was not properly prepared the first time the crown was attached. They were more than glad to overcharge me to re-cement it however ($125, as compared to the going rate I've since learned is closer to $75), which they have done on the previous two occasions as well. Subsequently, I've reviewed charges for other procedures as well, to discover gross overcharges on them as well. The practice seems to favor a strategy of throwing a former partner under the bus for poor workmanship, rather than doing what is right by their clients. If the workmanship was exceptional, I might not mind paying a premium...but it's not.
These remarks are unfounded. The initial crown was not done by Krueger Dental Associates. It has been recemented twice in 11 years. The crown recement fee in 2012 has been the same since 2005 and is standard for the Chicago North Shore. We cannot address patient issues if we are not made aware of them. Dr. Krueger stands behind his work and welcomes patient feedback.
