I was in the office yesterday for a check up and cleaning. All went well with Jun (who is wonderful and an asset to your organization, very professional, pleasant and knowledgable) and Dr. T (lovely guy with whom I had an excellent interaction) but when Dr. T suggested that I have one crown re-done because the mercury was aging and beginning to pull away I then had a talk with Romana (not sure I have the name right). She offered me a price of $800 because that is what I paid last time and since I have no dental insurance. I told her I had to think about it but as I was undergoing my cleaning I decided that if we could negotiate the price a bit I would bite the bullet and go forward. She would not speak with me but told Jun that was that was the price and there was nothing to negotiate. What I had hoped to discuss was a compromise - I would pay $650 but I would pay in full, in advance. This may not be of interest to you but I was offended that she wouldn't show me the courtesy of a conversation. Basically this is very unfortunate customer relations, and since this used to be my field at LACMA (among other things) I think I know what I am talking about.
