About Dr. Maribel Monroe, M.D.
Maribel E. Monroe, M.D. is a Board Certified Obstetric and Gynecologist, who has incorporated the principals of Anti- Aging Medicine into her practice dedicated to a women's well being.
Dr. Maribel Monroe completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Before the residency she worked at the Neuroendocrine Laboratory at the National Institute of Health in Washington D.C., doing research between obesity, stress and hormones.
Dr. Monroe has been practicing gynecological surgery for 14 years in Las Vegas, NV. Seven years ago, she was introduced to bioidentical hormones. This was at the time when new research pointed out the dangers of synthetic hormones. She has also seen firsthand, the detrimental effect s of indiscriminate use of antidepressants, anxiolytics and other medications have on a women's well being.
Today's' woman is subjected to an inordinate amount of stress through all stages of her life. Societal pressures during puberty, through the financially difficult child bearing years, then later a stressful perimenopausal period and postmenopausal years are made more difficult, with the process of aging. Family, financial pressures and relationship issues make it even more difficult to maintain a healthy mind and body.
Dr. Monroe has learned the incredible benefits in the appropriate use of bioidentical hormones and natural supplements. She finds that almost all of her patients are able to stop using multiple medications and are able to lose weight, sleep better, and recover their sexual drive and a state of well being towards regaining healthy relationships.
Proper evaluation starts by dedicating time to listen and understand each patient's story. Dr. Monroe believes that laboratory and medical testing can only provide a unidimesional picture of the patient. In order to understand women's feelings, concerns and symptoms, doctors' need to dedicate time and be able to understand the patient's problems. The main goal is to reach the optimal healthy state through hormones, healthy eating habits and exercise.
