Dr. Mary A. Sanders, DMD
I started in dentistry as a teenager, assisting at my mother's dental office. I then managed multiple dental practices in Florida. The dentists I worked for encouraged me to return to college to earn my own dentist degree. My initial major was Commercial Art, but I switched to Microbiology at the University of Florida.
I graduated in 1995 from the University of Florida College of Dentistry, with honors. I am a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Omicron Kappa Upsilon, and was awarded the CW Jr. Fain Professionalism Award for outstanding ethics and professionalism. I also received Presidential Recognition for outstanding achievement at the University of Florida Dental School.
As class President I had the honor of giving the commencement address. Being able to do this was a tremendous feeling, especially since it was an elected position and I was selected by my co-students.
Currently I am a member of the Florida Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Florida Dental Association, and the International Association of Implantology.
Outside of dentistry, I show and breed Standard Poodles. My dogs are my pride and joy. I am especially proud of my number one silver dog. I also run agility with the dogs. I enjoy most outdoor sports, especially kayaking. But my true pleasure is improving people's lives by giving them their confidence back with a healthy beautiful smile.
