Staff was amazing when Lucy injured her eye. They fit her in for emergency visit asap. we got pain meds to get her through the night until her surgery to remove the eye the following morning.
When I picked her up after surgery the entire right side of her face was bloody and swollen. The ecoller was bloody. 1st night she cried in pain and was inconsolable, never slept. Next day she refused food but ate 1 treat and her meds with peanut butter. Her swelling has gone down some and we ice it every 4 hrs. The last time she drank water was Wed morning when I put my hand in water and get her to lick it to get fluids into her. No food since the treat Wed morning. Fluid only by hand since Monday. Called today and was told they can see her this evening. I expressed concern of her refusing food and water. She has had her little of both since Monday morning. Staff told me I can drop her off this morning and leave her But she still would not get seen till after 4pm or I could always take her to the emergency room... Are you kidding me right now? Surgery w your doctor, something is wrong= take her elsewhere. Absolutely horrified at this response. I am very concerned for my dog and this is their answer.
Hi Jennifer, thanks for taking my call today. I was glad to hear Lucy is feeling a little better. As we discussed, if you have any further questions or concerns this weekend, please don't hesitate to call Dr. Field at (978) 948-2345. Again, my apologies that we were not able to accommodate Lucy with an earlier appointment. Thank you for your feedback. -Ana, Hospital Manager
