I had a very good experience at my first visit with Companion Animal Medical Center with my Main Coon Kitty, Gabby. This was an emergency situation as she was bleeding due to a severe UTI. She was taken care of in a very timely manner. The staff was very kind and knowledgeable. I soo appreciated their promptness in proving her with care and explaining her medical situation. I was given an antibiotic and pain meds to take home for her and a follow up appointment was scheduled for the following week. This is a large clinic that provides a multidisciplinary array of care including surgery. There are also a few Di's who do make home visits during normal hours. The clinic was very clean which is always an issue for me. I was very happy to have been referred to this Animal Medical Center as I am new to the area and had no idea where to go.

The overall experience was very good. However, it seems there is a policy that was very inconvenient when I went to pick up my dog. We dropped her off in the morning, the doctor called to let us know blood had been taken and we'd have an answer back the next day. So I went to pick my dog up at the end of the day.

When I went in to pay and pick up my dog instead of being able to efficiently do that I was lead to a room and told there could be a wait because there had been some emergencies come in. I waited for over 10 min before I went back up front and asked why I had to wait while the staff was busy with emergencies since I didn't have an appointment - I just needed to pay and take my dog home. The staff was very professional and explained that this is the policy and they need to release my dog...how inconvenient! I already talked to the vet earlier and knew we were waiting on test results why in the world do I need to wait in a room for someone to come in and tell me what I've already been told just so I can pay and take my dog home. This policy may work for office staff but is very inconvenient for the patients who have busy lives and don't have time to sit around needlessly. Please change that policy.

Again the staff was very kind and handled the situation well.

My dog had a reaction to the vaccines. She was also treated for a possible reaction. Didn't work. In paid for an extra shot too.

Thank you for the review! The pre-med injection that was given is the first step in preventing a reaction. Unfortunately there is no way for us to predict how severe the reaction will be; every animal is different. In the future, it is suggested that the pre-med be given in addition to splitting vaccines between two visits. I hope Molly is doing well! We are always greeted warmly and Ellie talked to you and loved by the front staff. Dr. Johnson always shares who love of animals with Ellie. She is very thorough in the check-up and with Ellie's eye issue and recent loss of weight, good to evaluate the situation and make recommendations, which included a high level blood test. We know that Dr. Johnson and Companion Animal Medical Center does everything possible to give Ellie the best life possible. Thank you! Cindy
