I can not say enough how much I enjoyed my experience with Omni Dental. My first visit was due to a fractured molar( thanks a lot almonds )... from the moment you step into the office its an automatic feeling of calm. Calming is a major factor for someone with dental amxiety. Its well decorated, doesnt smell like your typical dental office, and has the added bonus of a massage chair in the waiting room. The staff was welcoming and professional. Dr. Tsang was the first person to see me and evaluate my tooth, but because of the severity of my fracture refered me to an Endodontist to evaluate if the tooth could be saved or needed to be pulled they really want to make sure theyre making the best decisions for your dental health and wallet. Omni didnt want to just slap a crown on my tooth that could crack later. I appreciated the fact that they seemed to care and didnt just see your mouth as a money maker.
Heres where I made a mistake. I decided to not go with her referral and went to my insurance company for an in network Endo ...big mistake i should have just gone with who Dr. Tsang recommended because im sure i would have had a much better experience....probably spa like experience. ( word to the wise just go where she sends you :-) she knows what shes doing and surrounds herself with professionals)
Anywho I decided to go with who my insurance recommended and lets just say the random Endo i went to performed a root canal without much evaluation and ended up reducing the tooth to the point of not being able to save it and the fracture was up much farther than would be wise to chance a crown. Not to mention he missed one of the roots.
Long story short i go back to Omni to hear the verdict on my tooth. This is when i met Dr. Stevens. Again pleasant ,humorous and more importantly just like Dr. Tsang knew what he was doing. After some poking around double checking and then triple checking with Dr. Tsang they recommended tooth extraction because of the fracture and now because of the lack of tooth surface/ wall to attach the crown. Dr. Stevens performed the extraction and although my tooth was a little stubborn he was a gentle as possible, took his time and even indulged me in my request to keep my tooth.
Things I have learned during my experience with Omni
1. Professional quality care
2 . Its probably best to stick with their referrals
3. Their first priority is your care and not just profit
Im looking forward to my cleaning and general visit in a few months and so very thankful I found their office. Yes they are booked up,but they're well worth the wait. Its not everyday after a molar extraction you leave a dental office thinking "this was fun. Wish I worked here"
* please excuse any typos i am still on pain medication as my extraction was just yesterday. The experience was such a good one that I took the time during recovery to sing their praises *
