After 15 years as a client at OSSVH, trusting your doctors unconditionally with the care of my two deceased Boston Terriers and my current dog, Hoover, I am so disappointed. My most recent visit resulted in a perhaps my most expensive bill ever for a "wellness visit", a confusing description of a Health Care Plan (?) that I still don't fully understand in terms of what the financial benefits are, and leaving only to find that two of the shots Hoover needs to continue attending day care regularly were not given. (Perhaps there is a reason for this, but it was not explained to me.) I feel that by rejecting the health care plan, I have cost myself even more money. Could you perhaps hand out a sheet that clearly delineates the benefits and the financial bottom line, so that when a person is standing at a public counter handing over an already-substantial amount of money (and in my case concerned about some of the results of Hoover's visit, with him tugging on the leash at my feet) she does not have to make a snap decision about something else? I had to ask Desiree several times to clarify the bottom line of this service, and only after a few requests did she note that it would lead to my visit costing over $700 the other day instead of $590. I'm not sure that loudly repeating the covered services several times counts as a clarification. I have nothing against her at all, but I do have a serious problem with the delivery. I also looked at the website before the visit, and it was no more clear about the financial outlay and subsequent benefits of this plan than the receptionist was. Incredibly stressful, unexpected experience.

I have recommended OSSVH to a friend in just recent months. Now I feel like this was a huge mistake, and that I should be locating another vet for Hoover and for my own peace of mind. I understand that you need to make money, but I have never felt so upsold and underserved at your hospital.

I feel so at ease with all the doctors there. Whenever I have to make an appointment for one of our kids they ask if I have a doctor preference. They all are my preference!! Their excellent guidance and care is why we go there.
