I've been going for more than 20 years, received a couple of crowns, a couple of small fillings, but otherwise noting noteworthy. Steve Keller is my dentist. He is always pleasant and does good work as best as I can tell. What's irritating is that the push X-rays regularly even when there is no evidence of a problem. They are generally insensitive to insurance coverage and cost/benefits concerns to patients.
Palo Alto Dental Group replied:
The goal for PADG is to provide the best service to our patients. We are a conservative practice and we ask our patients to have check up x-rays every 2 years on comparison to other practices that do it every 6 months or every year. We never push our patients to have x-rays, we give them the reason why they should have it and it will be up to their best knowledge to decide to have it taken or not. Usually insurances pay for every year if not less, but we preserve our tradition to be conservative.
