This is the review I provided to Angie's List: Rebuilt 50 feet of cedar privacy fencing, including a driveway gate and a pedrestian gate, between existing brick pilasters and installed three new 4"x4" steel posts.
The owner Earl Baca came out and measured, made some suggestions and provided an initial estimate. We discussed some different options, including the use of composite pickets and steel posts. Earl suggested I read some reviews about composite wood used in a high UV environment. My house is at 6,000 feet elevation, after reading the reviews, I agreed with Earl that cedar was a better choice and he agreed the steel posts would be better than wood. Gave me a new and very reasonable estimate.
Installation was done in 2 1/2 days (had to allow for the concrete around the steel posts to cure). Excellent quality workmanship and excellent building materials. The use of ring nails will insure that the pickets will not loosen. The gates and new hardware are big improvement over my old gates, which I constructed myself 35 years ago. The installers were prompt, very polite, and thoroughly clean-ed up at the completion of their work. I would certainly recommend Earl Baca and Payless Fence for anyone need a cedar privacy fence.
