I have taken our cars for previous service and tires. Recently I took our car in for a smog check and was told that it failed and that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced, along with a couple of O2 sensors, and new plugs and wires. I was given the print out with the highlighted figures that indicated the failed converter. I had someone else look at the numbers and was told that the numbers did not indicate that. I had the O2 sensor replaced elsewhere, changed the plugs and wires, had it retested and it passed. I was disappointed that either your employees mis read the print out or they didn't know what would indicate a failed converter. Either way, I avoided a $1500 repair by having it checked somewhere else. If I had Petrillo's make all the recommed3ed repairs, it would have passed and I would not have known that the catalytic converter was not the reason for a failed test. We have since made the decision to have our vehicles serviced and buy our tires elsewhere.
